Show WOMAN'S HAIR YIELDS BANK LOOT, IS CLAIM LA GRANDE, Ore., Oct. 13. Of the $"349 found on the persons of "William Underwood, James Miller and Mrs. E. M. McCarthy, the trio arrested here yesterday yester-day for alleged connection with the SpringviHe, Utah, bank robbery, more than $2000 of the amount was In the woman's hair and hat. Bills of large denomination had been cunningly secreted by Mrs. McCarthy in her hair, as well as in the lining of her hat, but the small fortune was quickly discovered when a woman searcher was put to work. The Utah officers are expected here early Thursday morning. Aside from the fact that they proclaim their innocence, , the suspects have refused to talk. Special to The Tribune. PROVO, Oct. 13. County Attorney J. W. Robinson will go to Salt Lake tomorrow tomor-row to obtain requisition papers for the three Sprlng-ville bank robber suspects, under arrest at La Grande, Ore. It is not believed that the trio will stand upon their rights, to the extent of demanding this formality, but the papers will be sought. |
