"Dad" Hamilton, one of Salt Lake's veteran anglo artists, arrived in Salt Lake yesterday morning and exhibited what Is believed to be the "daddy of 'em all" of the Strawberry reservoir. - After the big catch "Dad" made exhaustive Inquiry of the natives In the vicinity of tne reservoir ns to the proport Ions of other big fish that have been hauled fro mthat body of wu ter, nnd In each Instance they assured him that he had smashed all records with his haul. It took a spirited five mlnutea of fight ! to land the big one, "Dad" said, and when 'tho fish grabbed his minnow and started running, it seemed that nothing smaller than -a small whale could bo on the end of his line. With tho aid of a pole with a large hook installed on tho end, "Dad" at last hauled his catch into the boat, and then he sat down for a good, long rest. Tho veteran nngler also pulled a seven-pounder seven-pounder from the Strawberry waters. Mr. Hamilton resides at 205 East Thirty-second street. |
