Show PLANT OFFICIALS REPORT FROGRESS TO NORMAL STATUS PITTSBURG, Oct. 13. Steel companies I whose plants are operating in the Pitts- 1 burg district continued to report steady progress toward normal conditions today, which marked the beginning of the fourth week of the nation-wide steel j workers' strike. No announcement of ad-! ad-! ditional nuMs starting up came from any- where in the Pittsburg district, but sev-' sev-' oral in other steel centers were reported as having begun operations. Neither were there any claims made of large numbers of men returning to work in plants that have been working. Strike leaders at the headquarters of the steel workers' national committee expressed ex-pressed gratification af the steadfastness (if the union men. While steel companies reported a steady inflow of workers, the union leaders maintained there were no defections. State police dispersed several hundred" hun-dred" strikers when they attempted to hold a meeting at North Clair ton. No arrests were made.
