SOCIETY i Short Story Club Holds Annual Celebration MEMBERS of the Short Story club were entertained at their annual Christmas party yesterday afternoon after-noon at the home of Miss Linda Jessup on Twelfth East street. The afternoon was devoted to original stories by the club members. "Christmas Legends" were read by Mrs. D. W. Deason. Mrs. E. B. Palmer real an original story. A Christmas story was contributed by Miss Josephine Spencer, and Miss Jessup read some Christmas verses. The rooms were decorated In holly, mist.etoe and other Christmas greens. A basket of holly, tied with red maline, was the centerpiece for the tea table. Silver i candlesticks at the corners of the table I held reel candles. Presiding at the tea table was Mrs. C. D. Moore. Assisting in serving were Miss Dorothy Gavford, Miss Muriel Gayford and Miss Marion Douglas. Ices were hi the form of Christmas bells. The guests numbered about fort5r. A bridge luncheon was given by Mrs. (John Randall at her home in the Maryland Mary-land apartments yesterday in honor of Miss Lorna Dunn of Bishopthorpe manor, South Bethlehem, Pa. Luncheon was served at small . tables. The rooms were decorated In Christmas greens. Each table had an antique crystal candlestick, holding white candles with a red shade as a centerpiece. A foature of the afternoon was a musical program, including piano selections, by Mrs. Louis P. Hess, who played Fade-rewski's Fade-rewski's "Minuet" and Dvorak's "Hu-moresque," "Hu-moresque," and vocal numbers, "Somewhere "Some-where a Voice is Calling Me" and "Berceuse," "Ber-ceuse," by Jocelyn. The marriage of Miss Marguerite Kath-ryn Kath-ryn Rowley of this city and Lieutenant Llov-d L. Curtice took place yesterday at high noon at St. Clement's Episcopal church at EI Taso, Texas. The ceremony was performed by the rector of the church, the Rev. Fuller Swift The bride was attended by Mrs. il. R. Keller as matron of honor, and Major H. R. Keller was best man. Lieutenant and Mr3 Curtice will be at home after January Janu-ary 15 at Camp Furlong, Coiumbus, N. M. A dancing party was given at the Country Coun-try club Saturday evening by Miss Isa-belle Isa-belle Morgan, Miss Daliel Evans. Miss J-met Reld, -Miss Kenneth King and Miss Helen Oswald.
