Show ROAD COMMISSION DISTRIBUTES $8000 Amount Is in payment for Labor Performed Per-formed on Highways During the Past Month. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, May 22. Approximately $8000 was distributed by the state road commission com-mission in Weber county today for the work done upon the highways during the past month. W. H. Taylor, state road agent for Weber county, acted I as paymaster, pay-master, at his office in the courthouse. The employees paid off were those who are working upon the state road connecting con-necting Weber and Cache counties over the divide between the Ogden and Cache alleys and upon five or six other pieces of road in the county. About 500 men received checks. The state commission and the county started work today upon placing Tarvia upon the Riverdale road, which is part of the state highway between Ogden and Salt Lake. This road, which is to be covered, cov-ered, is from the end of the pavement of the city to the concrete road at the foot of the Sand Ridge district. The work upoi the concrete road from the north city lirfiits to North Ogden will start immediately. Macadamizing the Hooper road will start as soon as the spur track to the shale slide in Ogden canyon, near Idlewild, fs completed. The lime rock will be hauled in cars over the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Central railroad to a point near Hooper, where it wilt be placed upon the road by team. |
