Show WALKER ACQUITTED AFTER BRIEF TRIAL A verdict of not guilty was returned vesterday by the jury in the case of Elgin Walker, tried in Judge W. H. Enamel's division of the Third district court on a charge of Involuntary manslaughter for the death of Sam Pappas, killed last March 2i, when run down at Fifty-sixth South and State streets by an automobile automo-bile driven by Walker. Papons was leaning over in the act of repairi mr a headlight when struck. Walker's defense was that he was 'Anded at the time of the accident by the glaring headlight of another car and did not gee the man. Attorneys L. Eg: risen Cluff and V J. Cowan conducted the defense. |
