Work cy n I hen he started aL a nunUier of places in the, upper workings, where ore is ex-pos-d ready for extraction, and tluj real productive period of the mine will bet; in. In making I lie raise two feet of hitfh-xrade hitfh-xrade ft re has been found to follow the fuuiwall, so a considerable, production of , ore has been made from the working. Ah a permanent working through which the 1 lehneL mine can be developed and worked to Ki eat dr pi h, t he managentent plans to Install a larn hoisting plant on the south side of Helmet hill at a site where a main shaft will be located. The site will be determined upon when No. 1 south drift can be extended some distance farther. Hie intention being to raise from No. 1 tunnel to t lie surface. With the big hoist, in operation the work of sinking to hundreds of feet below the level of No. 1 tunnel will henin and be rushed as fast as conditions will permit. At the Mogul mine the 200 level is nrosscutting an ore-bearing formation, and t lie iinl i cat ions are the working will be productive of a regular output of ore very soon. A vein of ore, that was three feet wide where it was cut with the shaft, is one of the principal objectives of the 1 present work, and the downward extension of it may be readied with any round of holes. When encountered a drift will be run to open it south from the shaft, while the level will be extended to the east until all the strata of the formation have been crosscut. At ;?00 foet the shaft is in the grano-diorito grano-diorito forma tion, but it is believe;! that the lower ore-bearing zone disclosed in the shaft will be reached when the 300 level shall have been driven but a short distance. dis-tance. The indications that ore bodies of size and value at the depth of the level are extremely encouraging, and that they will soon be found is confidently ex- npfl fil The. Mogul sllaTt is 318 feet deep, and sinking will be suspended until considerable consider-able prospecting work can be accomplished on tiie 200 and 300 levels, and a hoist of larger capacity can be secured and installed to handle ore and waste from all the workings. Another air compressor of 300 cubic inch capacity, and a duplicate of the one-installed one-installed near the portal of No. 1 tunnel, has been purchased by tho management, and will be delivered and installed in a few days. The two compressors will supply sup-ply air for the ever-increasing number of machine drills that are . being put into sendee, and also for the large hoist that is to he installed at the main shaft on the sotith side. Additional drilling machines, ma-chines, tools and supplies have been purchased, pur-chased, so there will be no loss of time in keeping operations tuned-up to full speed. The building for the superintendent's quarters, office and laboratory has been finished, and other surface improvements are being made. All general conditions at the property are satisfactory, and regular reg-ular production and shipments of ore will soon be Inaugurated. Gold Hill Standard. |
