Show CHILD KILLED BY FALL FROM TRAIN RENO, Nev., June 10. Alice Heffner, nine years old, fell from a window on a Southern Pacific company train last night near Hazen, when the train was going forty miles an hour, and died at the Sparks Emergency hospital from a fracture frac-ture of the skull. The child's mother, Mrs. Grace Bassett, of Ogden, was riding in a seat next to the little girl and fell asleep. She did not miss her daughter until the train had gone seven miles. Thej were on their way from Ogden, Utah to Oakland, Cal. OGDEN, June 10. Mrs. Grace Bassett, with her daughter Alice Heffner, nine years of age, left Ogden Saturday night for Oakland to visit relatives. Mrs. Bassett Bas-sett is a sister of Mrs. Edward Munsey, S61 Twenty-sixth street, Ogden, who received re-ceived a telegram tonight announcing that Alice had fallen from the window of the train near Massie, Nev., and died this afternoon aft-ernoon in the hospital at Reno. The body will be brought to Ogden for internment. |
