Railroads behind the Austrian lines in northern Italy are being rushed' to their capacity night and day In bringing troops to the front, distributing Lhem to different sectors and moving heavy guns and large quantities of munitions muni-tions to positions near the battle line. A special system of drills to improve the physical condition of the Austrian soldiers sol-diers and give them training for assaulting assault-ing positions has also been put into effect. The Austrians in the niountain district are under the direct command of Field Marshal Conrad von Iloetzendorf. Marshal Mar-shal Boroevic, commander of the Austrian forces on the Italian front, is located In the Piave river district. It is he who last year promised to deliver Venice to his emperor and initiated air raids upon vhurchc-s and monuments in that city until the Ilalian aerial pilots destroyed the effectiveness ef-fectiveness of the Austrian raiders. It is known ihat the enemy is making strenuous efforts to prevent deservers from reaching the Italian lines, carrving information of troop dispositions.
