Show TO HAVE TRAVELING SCHOOL OF MINES Free Mining Education Is to Bo Given "by Nevada Insti-tution. Insti-tution. A traveling mining sohoof Is to be started in Nevada under the auspices of the state and federal boards for vocational voca-tional training. The school will travel fro m camp to camp and give secon dar y mining training to working miners, mill-men, mill-men, smeltormen, prospectors and others. It is proposed to send the school to the camp wrich first obtains an advance registration of at least twenty men, and to continue in t his camp for at least three months, which is sufficient to complete com-plete several of the shorter courses or any one of the longer courses. Providing the attendance at tlte end of the three months' period remains as high as twenty, twen-ty, the school will remain a further three months in the came camp, but under no consideration will it exceed a stay of more than six months at a time in one camp. There will be no charge for instruction, but tho students will be expected to furnish fur-nish their own books and supplies. The camp will be called upon to supply a suitable room for the school and to furnish fur-nish the necessary heat and light. The instruction will be carried on in such a way as not to interfere with the regular work of the mines, and will consist of about two hours' work per day, exclusive of Sundays. Where there are two shifts, the same classes will be repeated at such times as to permit men who change shifts to continue their studies without interruption. inter-ruption. Thirty-six courses are to be offered. Including In-cluding subjects in mining, drafting, surveying, sur-veying, geology and mineralogy, chemistry, chemis-try, assaying and metallurgy. Groupings of these courses to train men for sixteen special positions such as mine foreman, surveyor, assayer. etc. are suggested. These suggested courses begin with work of a very elementary and practical character, char-acter, such as training for machtnemen, shotflrers, timbermen, samplers and so-lutionmen. so-lutionmen. An effort is being made to start the work by the middle of May, but It may not be possible to begin before June 1, as arrangements for a principal have not yet been completed.
