Show AMERICANS TOLD VIEW OF BRITISH Labor Delegates From United States Holding Conferences With English Union Heads. LONDON, April 29. The delegates 0f the American Federation of Labor who are visiting: England with the American labor mission, conferred today with members mem-bers of the executive body of the trades union congress, the parliamentary labor committees and the national labor party. The object was to ascertain how far American labor was in agreement with the war alms of British labor. Arthur Henderson, leader of the labor party fn the house of commons, explained that the attitude of British labor was that every effort should be made to make use of the political weapon to strengthen the military, and to bring together an international inter-national labor and socialist conference, Including representatives from enemy countries, for the frank discussion of a possible peace. The conference adjourned until tomorrow, tomor-row, to give the Americans an opportunity oppor-tunity to consider the points raised. |
