Show Responsible for Policy. ' LONDON. Dec. G. The man who more than any other person is responsible for Germany's present policy is Ernst Dau-mig. Dau-mig. according to the Berlin correspondent correspon-dent of tho Daily Express. Until 1916 Daumig was a member of the staff of the Socialist Vorwaerts of Berlin. Later he was secretary of the Independent Socialists. Social-ists. He now is president of tho national council and dictates to the six commissaries commis-saries who form the government. Daumig Dau-mig told the con espondent of the Express Ex-press that the peace delegates would be solected by the present cabinet. Ho declared the government's intention to get rid of all persons belonging to the old regime. Tho strength of the new German arm, Daumig tola the correspondent, would be decided at the peace conference. Ho did not think Germany would need much of an army or navy. The Germans, he said, were totally opposed to militarism and wished to live in peaceful understanding with ether nations. |
