OCR Text	Show More Gas Is Used. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN. Jan. IS. The shortage of coal in this city during the past two weeks has been felt by the Utah Power & Light company, according to P. M. Parry, general gen-eral manager, by tlie unprecedented consumption con-sumption of gas. An additional shift of stokers was found necessary at the gas plant to keep the tanks and service mains supplied. This exceptional use of gas resulted from the burning of gas ranges for heating purposes in lieu of coal, according ac-cording to Manager Parry, and also for preventing water pipes from freezing when coal fires were burning low during the night.
