Show BLANCETT LOCKED IN PENITENTIARY Condition of Alleged Murderer Still Serious, Se-rious, Owing to Attempt at Suicide. SANTA FE, X. M., Jan. IS Elbert Blaucett, charged with the murder of Clyde D. Armour, who lived at Sioux City, Iowa, at one time, tonight is in the' hospital of the New Mexico penitentiary peni-tentiary here. His condition is still serious, due to his alleged attempt to kill himself. He stood the trip from Friday Harbor, Wash., w:ell. Attorneys for the Armour family had obtained a court order authorizing the commitment of Blancett before the arrival ar-rival of Chief of Police Galusha of Albuquerque Al-buquerque with the prisoner. The train was stopped at the penitentiary a short distance from the passenger station here, and Blaucett was carried into the prison on a stretcher. Blancett had been apprised of the finding of the body of Armour in the Gloriefta mountains, Chief Galusha sa'id. He refused to make any statement. state-ment. Oddie Dyer, hotel manager, one of the men who is said to have bought Armour's automobile from Blancett, alleged al-leged to have posed as Armour, tonight identified the prisoner. Blancett denied de-nied that he knew Dyer or that he had sold him a car. He will be formally arraigned on the murder- charge as soon as he recovers, it is said. |
