Show CALKXTCO, Cal., Jan. 19. Rain, fog and cold weather prevented today further search by military airplanes of the desert of Lower California and Sonora So-nora for Lieutenant Colonel Harry G. Bishop and Lieutenant W. A. Robertson, Robert-son, Jr., army aviators, missing since January 10, when they started from San Diego, Cal., on a flight to Calexico. The three army airplanes, which were brought from the North island aviation base at San Diego, were here tonight and the military aviators who are conducting con-ducting the search were prepared for an early start tomorrow if the weather permits. Thp. two additional airplanes expected from San Diego today did not arrive, being delayed by weather conditions. con-ditions. Rain made the roads and desert country coun-try impassable and automobile searching search-ing parties also were compelled to abandon aban-don the hunt temporarily. Mounted searchers continued to n'do over the country where the missing aviators were Inst sighted, but those returning herp tonight said no trace of the two officers had been found. |
