Show OPING OF CAPITOL TAKES PLACE TODAY Excellent Programme Has Been Arranged ; Everybody Every-body Is Invited. With every Indication pointing to clear skies and ideal autumn temperature, conditions are exceedingly auspicious for the formal dedication of Utah's magnificent magnifi-cent new capitol this afternoon, the exercises ex-ercises beginning at 2 o'clock, with a big reception and a programme of dancing arranged for tonight. No formal invitations have been Issued, it being tlie desire of the committee to : make the affair generally public. Gov- j ernor Spry said last night that he desired 1 to Impress upon the people of the state the fact that every citizen of Utah is welcome and is expected to attend, if possible. pos-sible. Governor Spry will deliver the principal princi-pal address at the dedicatory exercises. There will, however, be other features of the programme that will likewise be well worth time and attention. A splendid programme of music has been arranged, which will Include the singing of "The Heavens Are Telling" and "Utah, We Love Thee" by the tabernacle tab-ernacle choir, under the direction of Professor Pro-fessor A. C. Lund, with Professor J. J. McClellan as accompanist. Professor Lund, Miss F.dna Anderson. John T. Hand, Mrs. Lucy Klrkman and Alfred Best. The band music for the afternoon will be furnished by Chfsholm's Concert band, which will play the following numbers: "March, "The Emigrants". A. E. Chisholm (Dedicated to Governor William Spry.) Key The reception to be given tonight will begin at 8 o'clock. The committee in charge plans to make this part of the affair reasonably brief, so that the major portion of the evening may be devoted to dancing In a specially arranged hall on the lower floor of the capitol. |
