The primaries pri-maries are to be held ne.xt Thursday night, August 3. for the purpose of electing elect-ing delegates to Republican state and congressional conventions. Chairman Rich also announced two changes In the apportionment of delegates dele-gates as announced. District No. 16 will elect three delegates instead of two. District Dis-trict No. 106 will elect two delegates instead in-stead of one. Also. Chairman Rich will issue special requests to the district chairmen to telephone tele-phone the results of the primaries on Thursday night to both the morning papers pa-pers for their news reports. As soon as the delegates are chosen they may telephone tele-phone the names to The Tribune, Main 590. Indications are that these primaries will be the liveliest and most largely attended of any held by the Republican party for years. There are earnest contests on for all the nominations on the state ticket and there is ti spirited race for the congressional con-gressional nomination in this district, so that there will be great rivalry among friends of the candidates to name the delegates. |
