Show MORE BUTCHERS OUT, ON STRIKE ST. IX'is; July 2. The strike of butchers and meat cutters at Kusi St. Louts, 111., packing -houses spread ton'ay to the Missouri side of t he river. Butchers Butch-ers and meat cutters employed by the St. Louis Independent Parking com pa ny, St. Louis, .Mo., went out. The strike at the three larye plants in East St. Louis grew today, and union officials offi-cials said between -tODfl nnd 5000 men were out. Managers of Armour & Co., Swift & Co. and .Morris Co. said between 2iH'0 and 2T.0O were on strike. The strike extended today to the plants of Cox-Gordon and of t lie Sartortous Provision company, both on the Missouri aide of the river. t Officials of the St. Louis Independent company said that nearly all of their GuO employees had struck. At all plants the strikers are demanding demand-ing substantially the same tiling recognition recog-nition of their union. |
