Show CONSOLATION SINGLES REACH SEMI-FINALS Play in the consolation Rlnglei of the city tournament at the Deseret gymnasium gym-nasium has now readied the semi-finals, but only one match will be played today-owing' today-owing' to the heavy schedule in the In-termountain In-termountain tournament at the Ea.lt Lake Tennis club's courta. Tills will be between be-tween Ott Romney arid E. Peterson, both of whom survived the preliminary contests con-tests yesterday and Monday. One of the best matches yesterday was between Romney and Bennett, the former for-mer winning only after the match had gone three sets. The scores were 6-2, 1-6. 6-2. In the other matches Cheney defeated Wetzel. 6-1. 6-3; Duncan defeated de-feated Umpleby. 6-0, 6-2: Cheney defeated de-feated Kirwin. 6-3. C--4, and Peterson won from Park by default. |
