Show TEXAS MAN GROUND TO DEATH BY TRAIN Oregon Short Line Passenger Train Runs Over Earl R. Ford; Apparently Apparent-ly Asleep on Track. Special to The Tribune. BOISE. Idaho. Aug, 31. Earl R. Ford of Shamrock. Texas, was literallv ground to pieces this morning by a Nampa-bound train on the first crossing west of the fair grounds. Ford was either asleen or drunk on the track and was Iving face down when run over. C. H Straight engineer of the train, stated that he blew the whistle for the crossing and that Just as he reached it he saw a dark obict on the track, but thought it was I" k tumbleweek Just as the engine struck the object, he states, he saw 11 was a man and brought his train to a slop Ford was unknown in this section In his pockets were found several letters and postal cards from his mother at Sham rock. Texas. She has been wired of hi death. He also had 26 cents in Us pocket, but no other papers or cards. |
