Show QUIET DAY ALONG WHOLE FRONT IS REPORTED BY PARIS PARIS, Aug. 9. fl:45 p. m. The following fol-lowing official communication was issued toniplit: The day lias been comparatively quiet on the whole front. In Artols, between the Somme and the Oise. and in the valley of the Alsne some artillery fiphtiner has been reported, and it is said Rheims again has been bombarded. Tn the Argonne. near the Fontaine-, aux-Charmes. the enemy attempted to capture our positions, but they were repulsed everywhere. In the Vosges there was only artillery artil-lery Wring. This morning an air squadron consisting- of thirty-two aeroplanes, convoyed by some scout speed planes, sallied forth to bombard the station and factories of Saare-bruecken Saare-bruecken t northeast of Metz). The atmospheric conditions were not favorable, fa-vorable, the valleys being: concealed under roar and the sky cloudy. Notwithstanding the difficulties attending at-tending the proper steering of the aircraft, air-craft, twenty-eight aeroplanes reached their goals and dropped 1S4 shells of various caliber.
