Indictments against ten persons, possibly fifteen, are expected expect-ed to be returned by the federal gra nd Jury tomorrow when it resumes consideration consid-eration of the cause and responsibility fur the capsizing of the steamer Eastland East-land in the Chicago river July 21 The yrand jury has been in recess since the middle of last week. United States District Dis-trict Attorney Charles F. Clyne. who is said to have been in conference with Attorney At-torney General Gregory on the subject of the investigation, will return to Chicago carlv tomorrow morning. Raising of the Eastland will not he attempted at-tempted until next Wcdnesdn v. it was announced today, but preparations for righting the vessel wore begun when the hull was sealed and a large pump made readj . Work of pumping out the 3"00 tons'of water in th half-submerged vessel ves-sel will begin when steel pipe connections are put in place. ' |
