Show SUFFRAGE ISS MEETING FRIDAY Plans Are Completed for Gathering to Be Held at Salt Lake Theater. Plans for the mags meeting to be held here Friday afternoon in tho interest in-terest of federal suffrage amendment were completed yesterday at a meeting of the executive committee in charge of the arrangements. The meeting will bo held in the Salt Lake theater and, as a preliminary to the convention, conven-tion, a reception will bo given at tho Hotel Utah Thursday night in honor of Miss Alice Paul of Washington, D. C, chairman of the Congressional anion. Committees were appointed yesterday yester-day to take charge of both events. The reception committee is composed of Mrs. Margaret Zane Cherdron, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Cohen. Mrs. Jtebecca Xib-lev, Xib-lev, Mrs. Kmily Richards and Mrs. Priscilla Jenniiigs. The programme committee for the meeting comprises Mrs. H. A. King, Mrs. E. D. Leather-wood, Leather-wood, Mrs. Lily C. AVolstenholme, Mrs. Elizabeth Hayward and Mrs. Hanne'n Lapish. It is planned to have as many women's organizations as possible attend at-tend the convention in a body. Although Al-though it is primarily a woman s meeting, meet-ing, men will be admitted. Miss Mable Vernon of 'Washington, who is heading the local campaign, and Miss Mary Coukle of Philadelphia held an open-air meeting last night on Second Sec-ond South street near its intersection with Main street. The meeting drew a large crowd, which applauded enthusiastically. en-thusiastically. Miss Vernon and Miss Conkle will" go to Provo today to hold an open-air meeting. |
