Show ITALIAN COAST IS BOMBARDED BY AUSTRIAN FLEET VIENNA, via London. Aug. 13. S : 35 p. m. The followiner official communication communica-tion was i.cue1 today: The naval com ma nder reports that parly Wednesday our ships bombarded bombard-ed the Italian littoral railway from Molfetta lo Seno San Giorgio. At Mol-fetta Mol-fetta four factories and two railway viaduct? were heavily bombarded. One viaduct was shattered and one fatorv set on fire. At San Spk'ito the station and several sev-eral depots were hurned to the grounj. At Eari. the castle signal station, and five factories were bombarded. One of the latter was destroyed. The whole of Barl was covered with clouds of dusi and Bmoke and the population was panlc-strirken. Italian guns of medium caliber fired ineffectively inef-fectively on our destroyers. An a t-U t-U -"k by a hostile submarine also failed. The railway viaduct at Seno Pan " Giorgio was badly damaged bv our fire. Our vessels all returned undamaged. undam-aged. With the exception of submarine? subma-rine? off Barl, nothing was seen of hostile naval forces. |
