Entered by TV. J. T-aCasse. Fresno dis- trlnuter, the Maxwell car maintained an j average speed of t wnty-l wo a nd one- '"alt miles per hour, for over twenty-two j hours. The contest was h-?ld under th"1 ! sealed bonnet rule, and the hood of the j car was not raised during the 500 miles i of the run. One of the remarkable features fea-tures of the test was the low consuinp-I consuinp-I tlon of fuel one gallon of lubricating od being used and 10. 7 miles being obtained ! to the gallon of gasoline. Parts of the course over which the run 'was conducted consisted of Jiilly coun-I coun-I tr- and the officials of the test pronounced pro-nounced the performance of the Maxwell j cur a record one under tiie conditions. |
