Kavanaugh, commercial agent here for tho Missouri Pacifie-Iron Mountain, yesterday received a bulletin bulle-tin announcing the appointment of J. N. Githens to the position of freight traffic manager for these linos. The bulletin was sent by J. M. Johnson, vice president in charge of traffic with the approval of B. F. Bush, president of the companies. The appointment is raado to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of B. M. Flippiu. It ia effective ef-fective September 1, 1912. Mr. Githens is well known to the railroad men of Salt Lake City and to others here, all of whom will rejoice at his promotion. For the past six years he has held his present position of general freight agent and in this capacity ca-pacity has visited Salt Lake City two or three tims each year. He went to the Missouri Pacific from the Illinois Central several years before be was known here, but until 1906 his headquarters head-quarters were in Chicago, He was transferred to St. Louis by the Missouri Mis-souri Pacific, and since then Utah has been in his territory. His headquarters headquar-ters will continue to be in St. Louis. |
