ALLEGED HORSETHIEF TAKEN INTO CUSTODY Sheriff Philip Allots of Tooele county coun-ty arrived in' Salt Lake last night with Jake Hoffman, whom ho and Sheriff John Coffey of SnmmTt county arrested yesterday at Snydecville. Shoriff Al-jets Al-jets wanted Hoffman on a charge of stealing a horse from George Hammond at Grsatsvillo. He had been trailing Hoffman for threo days, and caught him withwtho horse in his possession. According to Sheriff Al.iots, Hor man first eaid that he had bought the horse for &15 and promised to produce a bill o' Ham. On cloao questioning, howover, ho admitted that he did not havo a receipt and could not give the officers a satisfactory explanation of how he- came to have "tho animal iu his possession. Sheriff Aljets brought him to Salt Lake for the night, and will remoVe him to Tooolo today.
