Halifax and Merger. Two very Important pieces of work ac-' ac-' complished during 1H12 were the opera- tionB of the Tonopah Afergor company to the west and the Halifax Tonopah cont-l cont-l jianv to the cast of the developed zone. ' showing that the location of the heart of the blc: production zone Is llkclv to bo i changed. In other words, what has boon toiiKldcred the eastern and wcHicrn rlma I of tho productive zone are demonstrating the existence of ores reaching out far bevond the limits of former known re-j re-j Kourcen, thereby Increasing tho possibilities possibili-ties of the camp. During November the aicrKcx property wenl from the prospect division to the i more significant classification of pro-1 pro-1 ducera. This company has fihlpplng crude 'ore on the 1070-foot level, fifteen feet, of which will' average ?30 per ton. while 5 there are four feet alongside- of flrst- elass milling grade ore. The vein with IthlB ore has been demonstrated to date i'J'rom a. point 130 feet above the 080-foot " level to the 1070. the ore is opened along J jta trend on the OSO-foot level for 250 feet, and for 160 feet on the 1070. There is reason to believe that ISIS will wlt-xprb wlt-xprb tho entrance of tho Merger into the dlvi lend class. The work of the Halifax company during the year was daring In Its nature, The mine was equipped from the hegin-' hegin-' ning in a manner proving the sincere t faith of the officials In their property, (nil having been Inspired by the wonderful wonder-ful results at depth on the Belmont pron-' pron-' ijrly. which the Halifax adjoins. The Halifax shaft was driven without a pause to tho MOO-foot level, and work of , drifting and crosscuttlng on the 1000 and 1 IQG-iuot level was started, while the nniins:emciit continued Us progress from the 1 (00 to ihc 2000-foot level. This new mill ia one. of the moBt mndorn ever constructed, and gives the Belmont a splendid leverage for handling large tonnages and for tncrcaalnn; Hb dividend disbursements during tho coming com-ing year. The old mill of the company is handling custom ores of the camp, many smaller propertlea taking advantage advan-tage of ihc plant, without which they would be- compelled to construct a mill of their own. Camp's Banner Earner. The largest producer and dividend payer of tho camp ia the Tonopah Mining Min-ing company. On its various properties extensive work has been done throughout through-out the year. On tho Sllv.cr Top. on the various levels front the 110 to the 740. the vein nan been opened In a tat-Isfactory tat-Isfactory manner, aach providing Its share of the tonnngo for the hlg mill of the company. In this manner tle officials arc using a siirp'uB which otherwise would be paid out In extra dividend;, a policy to which tho investors among Its shareholders willingly willing-ly subscribe. The mill of the company Is treating an average of 150 tons of. ore daily, the average being ?13 per ton or better. The management has just proved the continuation of the resources re-sources from the GOO to the 660-foot levels, lev-els, thereby giving an additional 160 feet on the dip of the vein and Increasing the available tonnage very gratlfyingly. The shaft Is being driven to bettor depth continually, now being below the 800-foot 800-foot level, and good stringers of ore are. being encountered steadily, leading to tho conclusion that depth In thin mine will prove worthy of results on tho upper up-per levels. Other Producers. Production has be,cn ctcady from the West End Consolidated, MacNoinarn, TUldway and Jim Butler properties during dur-ing the year, all affording evidences of the eamp'8 extensive resource, while the North Star has produced a small but very Rood grade tonnage, shipping direct to tho smelters. There arc fifteen or twenty twen-ty properties other than those mentioned that arc hard at work developing new ground; many have encouraging developments, devel-opments, while Bcvcral seem certain to enter the productive division before the close of 1013. Tonopah closes the year with six regular regu-lar dividend payers, close to a dozen producers, pro-ducers, with one of the greatest mineral zones in the world continually widening in scope and richness, and with the satisfaction sat-isfaction of being one of the world's most productive nectlonti.
