Show W DAT SEEKING H BODES DEEP Supt. Grig-gs Gives Details of Work Progressing on the Tenth Level. KNOWS ORE IS THERE i j Seventh Level Affords Key to New Situation at Tin-tic Tin-tic Group. Interesting details of tho May Day operations were obtained on Saturday from C. C. Griggs, the superintendent of tho company, who was In. the city on company business. Several years ago the management had ore at that depth, but it was figured that tho ore continued con-tinued to the north, and this mistake prevented tho successful development of a resource that Is now full of splendid promise for the organization Development work on the 700-foot level points wltli unerring aim to the fact that this ore shoot Is going to tho south, and there can be no question but what tho ore. had on the 700 and 1000 levols Is ono and tho samo resource. This gives tho company absolutely virgin territory for 970 feet on the trend and stoning ground 500 feet In extent. Tho task confronting confront-ing the management Js now the development develop-ment of the resource along these tlnos. Tho ore on the 1000-foot level has boen developed at an average depth of twenty feet from that levol proper, and the development de-velopment has consisted of devious windings and turns which makes the extraction ex-traction of oro a very expensive and unsatisfactory procedure. To got round these dlflcultlcs the company has startod a drift on tho 1000 level, and within sixty feet Mr. Griggs estimates that the same ore will be picked up. There Is a full face of ore Just, below the 1000 level, an average assay of which was obtained yesterday, but Mr. Griggs was unwilling to give this aBsay, preferring to await the developments above stated. He assorted, as-sorted, however, that it was fine grade. On tho 700-foot level the managomont is working In two faces In first class ore, and a third face will be available within a short time. Tho production from this depth is now generous and will bo more so as lime goes on. There has beon no effort made to crosscut tho ore to determine de-termine the extent, tho company having worked to demonstrate tho ore along" different dif-ferent lines, but the effort now planned will open tho resource In all dircotions as quclkly as good workmanship will admit ad-mit of. The Uncle Sam mine Is looking good, some new oro Is being- exposed, but there Is considerable work ahoad of the company com-pany yet Mr, Griggs pointed out that the Uncle Sam company Is more than making Its expenses, and tho prospects are very good Indeed. |
