Miss Carroll is ono of the beautiful young girls of the northwest and is known to a number of friends locally, as sho has visited hero. Her father is tho manager of tho Portland Telegram, and is known in newspaper circles throughout tho west. He was at one time editor of the Cheyenne Chey-enne Leader and later was with the Denver News. Tho marriage of Miss Carroll and Lieutenant Mitchell will tako place in June. Mr. and Mrs. James C. Leary announce an-nounce tho engagement of their daughter daugh-ter Lorene to Gibson Thornlcy Borry of Henderson, Ky. The wedding will be ono of the June matrimonial events. The brido is one of tho most popular, young girls in local society, and is an accomplished musician as well.
