Show MANTI POSTOFFICE ENTERED AMD BOBBED The Burglars Were Evidently Experts, and Made Thorough Thor-ough Work. Special to The Tribune. MANTI, March 13. The postofflec .was broken into here some time during Saturday Satur-day night, the safe blown open and the contents taken. The discovery whs made this morning about 8:30 o'clock by Carlylc. the young son of. Postmaster Madsen. who had been sent to open the lobby door. The workmanship work-manship on the Job shows that 11 was not done by amateurs, ISntrnncc was effected through the rear window of the building, nnd tho doors to the postofflcu from the back room were forced by some heavy Instrument. The safe was drilled Into near the combination lock and ex-plosivcn ex-plosivcn used, which turned the safe completely com-pletely over. At this writing tho loss has not been given out. The tools with which the job was done, consisting of a slcdgo hnmmer, drills and heavy pieces of iron, were taken from the blacksmith shop of S. R. NIolson. Two shoestring peddlers and beggar on crutches, believed to have been "playing "play-ing 'possum," who have been about town for a few days, nro suspected. They have not yet been located. |
