Show ECHO OF DISASTROUS WRECK HEARD IN COURT An echo of tho disastrous wreck on tho Denver & Rio Grande railway between be-tween Mesa and Olivers on October 1-1 last was heard Saturday in the filing in the Third District court by the widow wid-ow and minor childreu of George W. McAleer, engineer of tho ill-fated westbound west-bound train, of a damage suit for $25,-000 $25,-000 against tho railway company for McAlecr's death. The plaintiffs are Mrs. Teresa McAleer, the widow, and Francis, 11 years old, and Florence Gcorgone, 7, the children, by the mother, moth-er, as guardian ad litem. Under instructions that the track was clear, McAleer, in charge of extra No. 1151, left Mesa for Olivers, whero ho was to meet and pass extra No. G2, cast-bound, it is alleged, at 2:32 a. m., but instead of holding the latter train until that hour the railway company started extra 02 out at 2:22, ten minutes min-utes ahead of time. As a result tho two trains came together and McAleer was instantly killed. |
