Show DENVER im WILL ENTER II EISTEDDFOD T. F. Thomas and Others Return Re-turn From Colorado City. Bringing Good News. T. y. Thomas, .Councilman John I-Iolley and Dr. J. B. Keysor returned Sunday afternoon from Denver, where they attended at-tended the Democratic convention. Dr. Keysor and Councilman Holley were initiated in-itiated into tho order of Tammany. Mr. Thomas made the visit for the express ex-press purpose of Interesting musical organizations or-ganizations of Denver or visiting in Denver Den-ver last week to partlclpato In the Eisteddfod, Eis-teddfod, which is to bo given In the tabernacle tab-ernacle on October 1, 2 and 3. Mr. Thomas Thom-as was highly successful, for he secured the signed letter of entry of the Denver Choral society of 100 voices to participate in the great singing fest. Tho letter of entry is signed by J. K. IT. Martin, business busi-ness manager, and Dr. Henry Housley, director of the organization. The Denver Choral society is widely known throughout through-out the West. At the World's fair held at St. Liouis In 1901, this organization carried car-ried off first honors In the contest for which It was entered. Mr. Thomas also received enough encouragement en-couragement from the Apollo club and the Ladles' Choral society to feci convinced con-vinced that these two organizations may como to 3ion to participate in tho Eisteddfod. Eis-teddfod. While In Denver, Mr. Thomas met John St. Clair, leader of the famous Cowboy band, which played at the Democratic Demo-cratic convention and which took an Important Im-portant part in the Elks' national convention con-vention which was held In Salt Lake City fI-o or six years ago. Mr. Thomas was told that this band would In all probability prob-ability enter the contests to bo held in October. |
