The presidential elections throughout tho Isthmus of Pan- ama passed off today without disturbance. Joao Domingo do Obaldla, formerly minister min-ister to the United States and acting pros- ldent during the absence of Dr. Amador, I was elected President. The supporters of ftlcardo Arian. who recently withdrew bin candidacy, decided not to vote, and as a consequence no opponent to Senor Obaldla was placed in nomination. Notwithstanding Notwithstand-ing this r. large number of voters registered regis-tered tholr choice and demonstrated the overwhelming majority of Senor Obaldla's supporters. From all parts of the republic repub-lic news has been received hero that tho elections wero carried on In an orderly manner and that Senor Obaldla received all tho votes cast. At tho conclusion of the balloting en- i thuslaetlc crowds, headed by a band, paraded tho streets of Panama, cheering continuously for the newly elected' President. Presi-dent. There appeared to bo an absoluto absence of Ill-feeling between tho former supporters of Senor Arias and the adherents adher-ents of Senor Obaldla.
