Griffith, clerk of the Utah supremo court, among whoso friends there was considerable anxiety, owing to his apparent sllmco. regarding his whereabouts, where-abouts, arrived in Salt JLako City Thursday Thurs-day morning. Mr. Griffith was seen at his residence. Thursday evening, by a Tribune representative, represen-tative, and said. "Accompanied by several sev-eral frlr-nds from Oakland, Cal.. .1 wont on a camping trip to Visalia, Cal., and was takin ill with what I am certain was ptomaine poisoning, and as wc wore som1 distance from a physician, I was elcvon days in recovering, and II was five days before I could commnml real aid. "Not wishing to cause my family any anxiety. 1 derided to wall until my return to Oakland btforo communicating with them. However, I did mail thorn a letter from a pmall mail station, but said nothing noth-ing of my illiTcss. and that letter must have miscarried, for they never received it. "I am still slightly under the weather, and quite' tired, owing to the train ride ; home, but am indeed glad to be homo i again, and the many greetings from my friends cause me to foci that It Is rather nice to have 'disappeared.' " Mr. Griffith' will resume his duties at tho supreme court today. |
