Show ! ACTIVE CANVASS 10 SELL HIS ! I i Commercial Club Governors Discuss Dis-cuss the Disposal of $116,-. 000 Worth. EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO SELL IN SMALL LOTS Thirty-Two New Members Are Elected; Important Matters Laid Over. v At tho meeting of the board of gov- ornors of the Commercial club Wcdncs- j j'dH3' afternoon most of the timo was ! takon up with a discussion of the pro-1 pro-1 posed new building which it is expected will be started within the next few weeks. Plans are being preparod -whereby thoso who havo subscribed for the building bonds may arrange to pay their subscriptions in "installments covering cov-ering a period of several months. It is proposer! to make an active canvass for tho sale of these bonds among the members of the club rather than to soli the ;? 110,000 worth which have not already al-ready been taken up to one or two parties, par-ties, who. it is understood, have offered to take up all that remain unsold. It is felt that, inasmuch as the Commercial Com-mercial club is a semi-public institution, the members will be interested in subscribing sub-scribing for the now building in such amounts as they can afford and thnt the interest, in the new clubhouse will thus be increased among the members. Tt has been pointed out that, although the building lot presented by Mr. Newhouse is said to bo worth $i0.000, that, is the value placed upon it some years ago, and that at the present lime' it will bo worth to a prospective purchaser nearer $100,000, and would hence no a first-class first-class security for bonds taken by anyone any-one wishing to subscribe for them. The consideration of the proponed lowering low-ering of insurance rates here and the matters relating to lhe holding of the national encampment of the Grand Army in Salt. Lako in the fall of 1909 wore postponed until a future meeting. Thirty-two new members were elected to the club, making the total membership, member-ship, with the original 700 members and the seventy elected several weeks ago, 802.
