A I threatening letter was received hero lo-lav lo-lav addressed to the new Guthrie State Tribune, in which the writer asserts that Gov, C.'harli-s N. Haskell and Bud. Ledbetter, the chief of police of Mus kogoe, are to bo assassinated aud ihe cirv of Guthrie bnrued by negroes. The letter' is unsiqnod. The. letter is an outgrowth of the ".fini Crow1' law passed by the Legislature Legis-lature and ropputly put into force. It has ben rigidly enforced by, tho Gov ernor and in addition (Miief LedbcMor ha? ordered all uegroes not employed to leave Muskogee. Every gambling house aud saloon in the city has been closed. |
