Show COMPANY II YET READ1MF0R ORES United States Company Desires to Complete Roasters De-fore De-fore Buying Ore. WILL BE SIXTY DAYS YET, AT LEAST Excavating for New Additions at Smelter Was Started Yesterday Yes-terday Morning. Tt is practicallj- certain that those who have been figuring on tho United States Smelting, .Refining and Mining company accepting ores from its customers cus-tomers within the immediate futuro arc bound for disappointment. It can be stated without fear of incurring a denial de-nial that the company is desirous of placing its cojivcrtor roasters into shape first beforo asking for ore contributions contribu-tions from local shippers. Tho plans for the now additions to the Bingham 'Junction smelting plant were approvod yesterday, Yuid tho work of excavating for the aamo was started. Tt may take sixty days for this portion of the work to bo completed, barring all delay's, and then there will be plenty of time left for tho company to. lay in its stock of ores. Tt has been a mooted question in local lo-cal circles as to when tho company would begin calling for ore. advocates of ah immediate demand having expressed ex-pressed their opinions, while the im- Frossion that tho company will wait or at least sixty days has prevailod and is correct. Tt was thought that tho prosent low price of silver and lead would provide an inducomont for immediate im-mediate purchases, trusting for quick advances in those two metals to bring in a good intcVnst on tho investment. But. perhaps it is no secret that the officials of-ficials .do not anticipate any quick riso in theEO metals. Better prices are anticipated, an-ticipated, but it. is thought they will rise slowly. Tt is no ea'sj' matter right now to figure why tho metals should tako a sudden turn upward. So this programme will save tho United States compan' from investing a million dollars dol-lars or more for ores which thoy cannot can-not possibly treat and secure a return on for several months.
