A. Graves, tho fellow approached Mr. Kucliler from the rear, striking him a vicious blow over the head with some blunt weapon. Graves blow into town from Winnc-mucca, Winnc-mucca, Nov., Friday morning, and at once proceeded to "rush the can." V When lie arrived at the sanitarium ho proceeded to make himself as objectionable as possible pos-sible to those at the resort. So reprehensible repre-hensible was his conduct that Manager Kuchler was forced to remonstrate with him several times. Finally, when the fol- j low became unmanageable, as well as un-I un-I endurable, Mr. Kuchler stepped to the telephone to ask for an officer, when the cowardly attack was made. Deputy Sheriff Nay Ion was summonvl after the assault, and escorted the obstreperous ob-streperous brakeman to the county jail, where he will be held ponding his trial on a charge of assault and battery. Mr. Kuchler wa.s not seriously injured, sustaining only a scalp wound. School Board Moetinj. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, April 21. The finance committee com-mittee reported tonight to the board of education that $153, COO will bo needed to run the schools of the city for the next year. Of thlfi amount $10Q.800 will be received- from the city taxation, and 552,000 from "the State school land fund. An application by Prof. D. E. Cloyd of the Ogden high school, asking permission permis-sion to use the building for a summer school for pupils who have work to make up, was referred to the public building and grounds committee. The amount in tlio treasury- at present is $21.'J70.sa, according to the treasurer's treasur-er's report. Bancroft Disappointed. Special to The Tribune. -OGDEN, April 21. General Manager Bancroft of the Oregon Short Line returned re-turned to Ogden. Friday, after a two-weeks' two-weeks' visit at Monterey. Cal. Mr. Bancroft seemed disappointed that the work on the Twenty-fourth street viaduct had been delayed by reason of his absence. He said that he would investigate the matter at once, and gave assurance that there would be no more delay, and that the work would be commenced at once and pressed to completion. Now Wants Divorce. Howard has failed to furnish his wife, Anna Howard, with the common com-mon necessaries of life, according to her complaint for divorce filed in the District Dis-trict court Friday. Mrs. Howard declares that lie has caused her great mental distress and worry by his indolent and shiftless habits. She has been obliged to work as a domestic do-mestic to provide herself and her three-year-old child with food and clothing, according ac-cording to her complajnt. She asks the court to grant her a decree of divorce, the custody of the minor child, $50 attorney's attor-ney's fee and suitable alimony. Selling Tobacco to Boys. Special to Tho Tribune. Raymond Draney and George Mamlln. testified that they bought tobacco from Munscy on Easier Sunday.
