Show BAMBERGER'S ROAD WILL I BE OPENED BY MAY BO J. B. Bean, excursion agent for the ' Salt Jike & Ogden railroad, said Friday , afternoon that every effort was being mado by the official of tho company to , open the road to Ogden by Decoration j dny. or soon after. The residents of the country through which the road will run are well pleased with the prospects of the new road ns It will bring them closer to tho cities and make it easier for them to i ship tholr produce to market. ! When the traffic t3 started trains will be run between Salt Lako and Ogden at frequent Intervals during the day and late Into the night. Trains also will bo run to Idlewild In Ogden canyon. The passenger department has not as yet announced an-nounced what the fare will be, but it Is generally supposed that II will be somewhat some-what cheaper than the present rate. Simon Bamberger stated that already nearly a million dollars has been spent In completing the road to Ogden and that many thousands of dollars Is now being spent In buying equipment for tho line. At present tho road has eight engines and forty passenger coaches ready for service. Tho road Is the flrat lntcrurban to be opened in thin part of tho country and will be electrified ns soon as possible. |
