Show I COLUMBUS CON. WINZE. Richest Continuous Body Ever Found Below Third Level. That there is nothing but good uews to report from the operations of the Columbus Consolidated management whs the answer given Friday by President Presi-dent Tony .Tacobson and Superintendent A. O. .Tacobson. After a vacation of three or four days, tho compaiu- began the usual active operations again yesterday yes-terday morning. One of tho most gratifying" grati-fying" dovelopiuont8 of recent months upon ( ho Columbus Consolidated ground is the manner in which the winze being driven from the 300-foot level is showing values. Superintendent .Inc.obson stated that this winze was started near tho face of the west, drift, located about 850 feet from the main shaft. The management man-agement has gone dovrn at least 18 feet upon a body of ore eight feet in width The general average of this body was carefully compiled for the week before be-fore the Christmas holidays; with the result that the average values were from 100 to 200 ounces silver and II1!; per cent copper. Mr. Jacobson states that this established the continuity of the ore on all the levels of the mine so far reached, and its continuation below the 300 foot level. The above continuous averages aro better than any ever encountered in the mine. The management is as yet undecided whether this body is the same as had above, or whether it is entirely new, but that it is extremely 'gratifying is apparent from the manner in which the officials consider it. |
