J A Mc-Lan, Mc-Lan, president of the 1'nlvorslty of Idaho, Ida-ho, returned last evening from b.is trip of about threo weeks to Utah and Colorado, where he has been Inspecting the laboratories labora-tories In tho mining departments of tho Universities of the- two States mentioned Dr McLean states that his trip waa highly satisfactory and that he s of the opinion that In the construction of the new laboratory for the mining department depart-ment here this year, they will be able to combine the best features of the best mining schools In the West, which he regards re-gards as the best there are to be found Dr. McLean Is the recipient of tin- degree de-gree of L. L. D.. voted to him by tho regents re-gents of th.. I'nlveitdtj of Colorado at their re. ont meeting In April Dr. McLean Mc-Lean has accepted the degree, which will be conferred In June next The degrees thus granted are said to be ths Brat conferred by the University of Colorado for five years.
