Show FORT DOUGLAS NOTES. In compliance with general orders recently re-cently Issued from the War department, depart-ment, the officers of the Twenty-ninth Infantry have adopted a "mess" jacket to be worn at all social functions at dinner. The order provides how tho garment shall be made, will be of blue and white stuff, and Is very neat In appearance. ap-pearance. An order for fifty will be forwarded to the tailoring establishment establish-ment tomorrow. The Twelfth and Twenty-second batteries bat-teries and companies E and H of tho Twenty-ninth infantry, having completed com-pleted their rifle practice, yesterday moved Into the new barracks recently finished, and the troops express themselves them-selves as being very much satisfied with them. Leave of absence for two months, to lake effect upon the completion of target tar-get practice of his company, has been granted Secoifd Lieut. John B. Barnes of the Twenty-ninth infantry at Fort .Douglas. Rumor has It that he will go East for a visit, and will return to Fort Douglas with an Eastern belle as his wife. Miss Valley T. McMahon, who has been visiting her brother, T. Dale McMahon. Mc-Mahon. regimental sergeant-major at Fort Douglas, left' yesterday for Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Ida. She will be Joined there by her mother, after which they will leave for their home at Carthage, Mo. |
