Show FEAST OF ROSES CLOSES ELKS' REUNION AT PROVO Special to The Tribune. PROVO, June IS. The concluding da of tho Elks' festivities at Provo wero well attended. The Otto Floto shows brought a good crowd from tho different parts of tho county. Tho patronage at tho midway compares favoroblo with other days. Parley Chrlstensen is acting Judge at tho kangaroo court. Tho entire forco employed at Skclton & Co. ' were given a free rido in tho patrol wagon. The chief offense against them was that they were permitted to arrango a beautiful souvenir and acted as editors to the kangaroo court, which was filled with tho court's proceedings. Tho following proclamation was Issued by Queen Lean this afternoon- "My Royal Subjects; In addressing you, tho queen wishes to express her extreme ex-treme delight In the apparent enjoyment of her subjects during the brief Interval which has elapsed slnco her coronation. "The queen has no criticism to offer, hut sho Is quite aware that these roses aro not tho only things that sorao of her subjects sub-jects havo looked upon when they wero red. "You have shown tho greatest loyalty toward your queen since she was crowned, but It Is now necessary that sljo should put you to a test, that to some of you may bo moro or less severe. It Is her wish that all who aro faithful to tho queen should remain masked during tho celebration which is about to begin. Anyone Any-one who shows his or her features during tho feast of roses, howevor beautiful those features may be, will bo considered an enemy to the queen, and the leniency with which ho or she is treated will not give him or her the Impression that he or sho has been presented with a cluster of American Beauties. "Tho edict of tho queen Is that no one who wears a mask shall recognize or hold parley with any one In the streets or in the hall, whose features are uncovered or apparent to the naked eye. Tho penalty of an Infraction of this rule will be tho Immediate doportation of the offender to the guillotine. "Tho ukase of tho queen Is that tho roses on this fair evening are common property. Any ono believing that one of her subjects has too bounteous a supply may replenish the supply by abduction from consignment of the neighbor without with-out making any explanation of why tho flowers are jiurlolned. "The queen realizes that the scepter of royalt will soon bo turned over to other hands, but her sincere wish Is that her short reign shall always bo remembered; as the most pleaxunt and brilliant and onjoyablo In the history of Elkdom. Howard's balloon was about ready for the start when Bomo pereon who had been appointed appoint-ed to attend to tho furnace put too much oil on tho fire, causing a blaze to enter tho balloon and Ignite it. Joshua Clabcr, who was attending on tho Insldo of tho balloon, was seriously burned about tho arms and shoulders. Ho was taken to tho hospital and Is doing nlcoly today. Thurman Thursday evening at the homo of the groom's parents. Tho marriage of Miss Lola Dennis and Mr. S. A. Thurman took place in the Salt Lako Temple Wednesday, and on Thursday evening a reception was given In their honor at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Thurman, SI South and Third East. Flower's wero used In profusion, the parlor being beautifully decorated In white and green wth roses, peonies and lilies. In the back parlor, red predominated, predomi-nated, while the dining-room was done in red In a charming little bower of red roses, Miss Ermo Fletcher servod punch.
