Oct. 23. -Special telegrams tel-egrams from Whlto Horso and from Dawson Daw-son report excitement running high throughout the Yukon countrj'i tho scenc3 of 1S9-3 being repeated and every means of convoyanco requisitioned to get to the latest EI Dorado, which Is Rosebud creek, a minor tributary of the Lower Stewart. Tho special correspondent at DawBOn states that tho discovery was mado by workmen fixing up the Government road from White Horse to Dawson, gravel taken from a high bench for filling In a cut being found to contain coarso gold running high In value, with numerous small nuggets. Prospectors who flocked In at onco reported that the formation was Identical In character with that of Bonanza, and believe they have at Rosebud Rose-bud a continuation of tho peculiar white channel gravel of that great gold producer. pro-ducer. The ore thus far taken out has all been from the surface of a high bench and tho gravel Is alleged to bo uniformly rich. Between three and four hundred havo gono from Dawson, and almost as many moro from up-river pojnts. |
