Show MINES ARE MADE once in a great while a surface deposit of mineral is discovered from which fortunes tu aies are recovered almost from the grassroots such cases are exceptional however and furnish no logical precedent which should govern regular mining operations for it is a well known fact that mines are made and not found it is true that droppings crop pings and ledges are discovered usually by the tireless and indomitable prospector that give promise of becoming producing and paying mines with exploitation and development but it usually takes years and the expenditure of large sums of money in development and equip ment before even a return of the outlay is made if ever for it is not every cropping that covers a paying ore body or a vein or ledge that contains valuable deposits of the metals or minerals this being the case there is a vast difference between a prospect and a mine A difference that is not often realized by the prospector who upon making a discovery of a promising prospect allows his imagination to fly to such an extent that he often fools himself into the belief that his bare location is in reality a rich and producing mine and he cannot be induced to part with his prospect eve excepting epting at figures that would cover the purchase price of a divi bend paying bonanza losing sight of the fact that thousands must be expended before profits can be recorded should the prospect really be the making of a mine at the present time an enormous amount of capital is seeking investment in promising mining property but is often balked and discouraged because of the exorbitant and ridiculous prices at which mere prospects are held by their owners the claim owner must remember that the buyer of his property is willing to put up the money if there is a reasonable chance to realize on his investment but he must also remember that mines are made and list his undeveloped holdings at prices which will attract buyers who loare willing to put up the wherewith for extensive s and systematic development |
