meeting of ot the executive e com coin committee committee of ot the new now Utah Mine Operators association held at the Commercial club yesterday afternoon every member was in attendance with the exception of La Lafayette Lafayette Lafayette fayette Hanchett who was compelled to leave loave for the east Friday in order to be ready to sail for London with Samuel Samue Newhouse on Tuesday The meeting was wasa a most enthusiastic one and as predict predicted ed when the association was formed on Wednesday it got right down to work real business It was WaH first decided that the association committee Willan Willard F P Snyder Sn der of or railroad Thomas Kearns of labor Jabor and H S Joseph of or the thc legislation committee These chairmen were authorized to select two members to serve with them on each committee and to name them from the membership of the association at large and not from the executive committee The chairmen of the various commit committees committees committees articles is to obtain equitable ble smelter rates for the ore producers of the state and to promote friendly re relations relations relations lations between producers and custom smelters and Whereas The smelters now operating are not offering the ore are producers satis satisfactory satisfactory satisfactory factory rates be it Resolved That this association give to any independent custom smelting project I Inow now in contemplation or to be contemplated contemplated contemplated plated its moral and if It necessary its financial support The railroad committee as soon as or organized organized organized by Chairman Snyder will take up the question of railroad transportation rates in all the camps and the other sub subcommittees subcommittees subcommittees committees will get busy government assay office in Salt Bait Lake Plans to Augment Membership Since the formation of ot the association on Wednesday a small pamphlet giving the name annie of or the association the names of the officers and other members of o the executive committee together with the articles of or association has been gotten out for distribution dis among the members and those likely to become members and such other uses as will best promote the building up of ot the organization and give a groundwork for the forming of simi similar similar lar tar associations in other states Many lIan of these
