Show Severe Storiis. A gentleman just in from Los Angeles with his family, by the southern route, reports very severe storms on the way. He left Los Angeles on the first of May, with a light wagon containing his family, a heavy wagon containing freight, and two hundred and seventy-five head of horses. About the middle of March he was overtaken by a terrific storm, and was compelled to lash his two wagons together to prevent the lighter one being blown away. He lost two hundred of his horses by the way, and left the other seventy-five head at Chicken Creek, coming on pretty well worn out and exhausted by the trip. |
