Show The Akin Fcrnace. The success of the Akin f'urnaee at Rye Patch, in reducing refractory ores is hailed with joy by our miners. It has demonstrated demonstra-ted beyond doubt, by actual working tests, that the process invented by Mr. A. is superior to any heretofore known for the treatment of ores containing too large a percentage of base metals to be profitably worked by ordinary amalgamation. amalga-mation. The yield of samples from mines in Winnetnucca and Gold Run districts roasted in the Akin furnace and worked at the Rye Patch mill, has been so satisfactory in every instance that the owners of the mines in this vicinity vi-cinity feel considerably elated, and a stimulus to the mining interest is the result. In several instances ores treated at Rye Patch have yielded 90 per cent, of their assayed value. Humboldt Register. |
