Show a YI1CA International Meeting Elects a President Presi-dent and a Secretary Mobile Ala April 21The International Interna-tional Y M C A was called to order tonight bv Dr Warner of New York and after preliminary exercises the biennial report of the International committee was presented Among other things It said that the number of associations as-sociations reporting have Increased but I three vet the membership has increased in-creased 4677 The number of buildings owned by the association has increased from 305 to 330 and the net value of I property less all debts on the same has increased from 16284378 to 17464427 an increase of 1150030 nearly 1000 000 In addition to the pledges for buildIngs build-Ings and miscellaneous funds There are 711 libraries containing 506659 volumes and 2420 educational classes with 25639 different students in them The report of the treasurer shows that the committee received during 1S36 I for home work 73010 and expended 72976 leaving a small balance in the treasury and for its foreign work it received 19747 and expended 19415 leaving a balance in the treasury j At the conclusion of the report the j opening address was delivered by Rev Dr Scofield of Northfield Mass after I whIch the following officers were elected j President Major Joseph Hardlfc of t Birmingham Xeb Secretary E It Willis of Omaha I |
